Do you work outside Ethiopia?
Film Ethiopia provides film fixing and production services across Africa as well as throughout Ethiopia, including Kenya, Djibouti, Somaliland, Sudan, South Sudan, Eritrea, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, Egypt, Ghana and South Africa. Multi-country shoots are run under a single contract and a single point of contact, using partners we have worked with directly rather than an anonymous referral network, so the standard of paperwork, data management and reporting stays consistent across borders.
One contact across borders
Multi-country shoots go wrong in the joins. A different fixer in each territory means a different manifest format, a different backup regime, a different idea of what a call sheet is, and a producer at home reconciling four sets of receipts in three currencies.
We run cross-border productions under one contract with one point of contact. The local partner on the ground in each country is someone we have worked with directly, briefed to our standard, and reporting through us. You get one budget, one cost report, one data workflow and one person to call.
Why the Horn of Africa is our strongest region
Ethiopia sits at the centre of the Horn, and Addis Ababa is the best-connected air hub in the region. That geography is practical rather than decorative: crew, equipment and permissions can be staged from Addis into Djibouti, Somaliland, Sudan, South Sudan, Eritrea and Kenya far more cheaply than flying a unit from Europe for each leg.
We have also worked on stories that cross those borders — migration, trade, water, faith — where an understanding of the whole region matters more than a contact list in any one capital.
